Coach is my first feature-length documentary film project recounting the trauma faced by former collegiate runner Alden Gruidel. The survivor-led narrative follows an interview with Alden who details her story, the love she found for running into the sexual abuse she faced in college by her head coach. The story focuses on the injustice brought by a subsequent Title IX investigation into the coach in which the University chose to avoid legal ramifications by letting the coach leave the team instead of pursuing legal justice for Alden and her teammates. The tone of the film highlights the injustice she faced whilst also shining light on her path through healing and reclaiming her life after the events of the Title IX investigation.
